Who/what is Inspirational Affect?
Hi my name is Allan, the owner and founder of Inspirational Affect. Inspirational Affect, established in August 2024, is a dropshipping clothing business based in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand and is passionate about empowering, uplifting, motivating & inspiring others through high-quality clothing.
The Story Behind Inspirational Affect
So it was the 28th of February 2021, between 6:00 and 6:30 AM, when my life took a sudden and unexpected turn.
What seemed like normal exhaustion at first slowly transformed into something I couldn’t escape—crippling chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Simple tasks became unbearably challenging, and the person I once was—physically fit with a strong work ethic—seemed to fade away. This journey wasn’t just my own—it impacted my family in profound ways.
As a father, I struggled with the overwhelming guilt of feeling like I couldn’t fully be there for my children. Simple things like playing or moving freely became almost impossible. As a partner, I often felt disconnected, burdened by the physical and emotional strain of my condition. Those moments were deeply challenging, but they also fueled my determination to find strength and push forward—not just for myself, but for the people I love most. My family became my inspiration, my constant reminder of why resilience and persistence matter.
The toll it took on me physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially was overwhelming. I was pushed to my breaking point more times than I can count, convinced that this was my new normal—that I would feel this way forever. But even in the darkest moments, there was a spark within me, an undeniable desire to turn things around. I knew there had to be a way for me to get better.
Doctors couldn’t offer much help; chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia remain poorly understood in the medical field. Many dismissed my condition entirely, telling me it was “all in my head” and that I was imagining my pain and symptoms. This left me feeling helpless, disempowered, and completely demotivated. But deep down, I knew there had to be a solution. There always is.
Years before these challenges arose, I had immersed myself in inspirational teachings—listening to hundreds of hours of audios by Earl Nightingale, Napoleon Hill, Bob Proctor, and Dr. Joe Dispenza to name a few. They all reinforced one fundamental truth: I had the power to reshape my reality, no matter how impossible it seemed. Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for those teachings because they fortified my mindset long before I hit rock bottom.
Every day became a test of resilience, patience, and persistence. I focused on one small victory at a time—whether it was simply getting out of bed, sitting up for longer than 5–10 minutes, walking a bit farther than the day before, eating healthier, or reframing my thoughts from “Why me?” to “What is this trying to teach me?” It wasn’t easy. There were moments I wanted to give up, but I held onto the belief that this was a valuable lesson, and change was happening, even if I couldn’t see or feel it yet.
Slowly but surely, I began to notice small shifts. I could walk for longer periods, perform light exercises, and tackle house chores more easily. By January 2025—nearly 4 years later—I started to experience something I hadn’t felt in years: little bursts of normality. My energy returned, little by little, and so did my dreams.
Today, I’m living proof that resilience and persistence can lead to transformation. I’ve emerged from this experience stronger, with a renewed purpose I never could have imagined.
